Traditional flavours

As a part of the delicious Abruzzo cuisine, Caramanico’s traditional dishes are strictly bound to the territory.

Flavours whose origins are related to our shepherding traditions and original recipes exclusive of this village, nowhere else to be found.

What to eat

Nothing is better than delicious bread cooked in a wood-fired oven and the pizzelle, the typical biscuits perfect for every occasion; typical of Easter holydays are the spumette della sposa, the cheese fiadoni and biscuits with almonds and nuts.

During Christmas time it is almost mandatory to eat mostaccioli and caucinetti.

Amongst the typical dishes we can list the tasty sagne seasoned in different ways: with beans, chickpeas or fried onion. There are also the delicious maltagliate, of squared or triangular shape, seasoned with tomato sauce or pecorino.
